Exciting Powertrain Options
The BMW 5 Series offers a selection of capable powertrains across its trim levels. A 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 powers the base 530i, sending up to 255 horsepower to the vehicle’s rear wheels. Upgrading the 530i xDrive model replaces the RWD drivetrain with BMW’s intelligent AWD system, xDrive, which significantly improves all-weather performance.
High-performance enthusiasts will meet their match in the M5 model, which houses a fierce plug-in hybrid powertrain. The setup incorporates a 4.4L turbocharged V8 and a single electric motor, generating a mind-boggling 717 horsepower. The output is distributed through an advanced xDrive system that features two-wheel-drive capability, letting drivers customize the sedan’s driving dynamics. Channeling all of its horses for an explosive start, the M5 rockets to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds.
Show-Stopping Looks
Every design element of the BMW 5 Series exudes power. The sedan sports an aggressive front fascia that incorporates the signature BMW twin-kidney grille, a chiseled hood, angular LED headlights, and a large lower air intake. Meanwhile, the rear end is defined by a wide stance, sculpted lines, L-shaped LED taillights, and, depending on the trim level, dual exhaust outlets that are integrated into the lower bumper.
Illuminated Entrance
An available illuminated entrance feature welcomes drivers as they approach the sedan with the key fob. Special LED projection modules built into the side of the BMW 5 Series display a sequence of light animations to beckon the driver in. It also projects a Dynamic Light Carpet to brighten up the door area, providing better visibility at night.
Ultra-Comfortable Seating
The BMW 5 Series is an executive-class sedan right out of the box, featuring 3-stage heated front seats with power adjustment in the front row and plush split-folding seats with a center armrest in the rear row. All seats are upholstered in perforated Veganza by default, but buyers can upgrade to one of many Merino leather options. Buyers can upgrade the sedan’s seats further by checking the boxes for ventilated front seats and heated rear seats.
Stunning Infotainment Display
A 14.9-inch display mounted on the center of the dashboard provides infotainment. It runs on BMW Operating System 8.5 and can be operated via touch, voice, or the iDrive controller. The screen offers wireless smartphone connectivity, allowing occupants to stream content from their seats, and built-in navigation capability to help drivers find their way around unfamiliar parts of town.
