The issue may be as simple as low transmission fluid, but it could also be a worn bearing or a damaged case. Leaking Fluid

A pool of liquid under your car is disheartening. Different fluids in your car have different colors and a pool of red, or worse black fluid is a sign of a transmission leak. Your transmission has hundreds of fast-moving parts, and many of them depend on friction to work effectively. Transmission fluid lubricates all of these parts and helps to control the temperature.

A fluid leak needs to be repaired ASAP, as a low level of transmission fluid will cause the transmission temperature to rise and it can overheat. Often, the leak is caused by a worn transmission gasket or a damaged transmission pad, and both of these parts are quick and inexpensive to replace. The black fluid means that the fluid is old and has started to burn. We will flush the transmission, check the other components are undamaged, and replace the fluid.
